What inspires my artwork?

When I find a new artist I admire, I enjoy reading about their thought process & where the inspiration for their work stems from. If you haven't already read my Bio, then you may not know that I adore colour, texture, & pattern. If you are on instagram, then you have been able to see some photos of our home that display this.

I feel a connection to street art & murals, as the texture is often layered & the more the paint is chipped & distressed the better. The vivid colours, shapes & composition get me excited & I usually need to photograph the image.

These pieces now hang proudly in our living room, a female figure whom I stumbled across while walking on my honeymoon in Montreal .

This image says "You & Me Create" & is a piece of the Berlin wall. While visiting Frank Lloyd Wright's Kentuck Knob home outside Pittsburgh, we walked through the sculpture park on the grounds & were able to see some great installations and sculptures, this being one of them.

Some examples of my work that I feel express a bold, gestural quality often seen on the street.
