I've been keeping busy painting lately, which I will admit feels really good. Yes I still paint things and stand back and think "This sucks...I hate it." For the most part though, each time I sit at the easel I produce something I would hang in my own home.
I now know I am not good at painting cacti as I tried the other day with no luck. I also attempted to create this geometric planter, but my friend Yumi gave me her thoughts and it got a make-over. I love the Instagram community and the friends I've met through it. Email a friend a photo and ask for an honest opinion, you'll probably get one. My husband is usually the one I ask as I work out of my home, it was great to get more feedback.

This bedroom design on domino that I just read about really stood out. The retro 70's vibe and colour palette inspired the painting below. I often use Interior sources for ideas. I actually dreamt of the green and peach combo, and woke up that morning and painted the background.
If you are local check out Artspace on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 7pm for an artist talk and closing reception with artist Omar Badrin. I had the chance to see the installation last month and it was like nothing I had seen before...in a good way. This is one of his pieces below.
If you haven't already seen the collection of art up on Schoolhouse Electric, you should check it out. This kind of collaboration is so wonderful, I can only hope that one day I will have an opportunity so exciting.
I adore the work of Lulie Wallace, this is one of her pieces. She mixes objects and patterns so well.

When your on a roll you have to keep going. You never know when the momentum and desire will stop. Things happen and every day is different, especially when you have children. Finding time to create has never felt so good. I better get back at it! Next week my new series will be available, the day has yet to be decided. I'll keep you posted I promise.
